Stefan Szczesny and Sebastian Steudtner come together for an evening in Monaco marking The Courage to Dream — a collaboration between painting and big-wave surfing, in support of WirMachenWelle, Sebastian's foundation bringing young people onto a surfboard and into nature.

Stefan Szczesny and Sebastian Steudtner marked The Courage to Dream with an evening in Monaco, bringing together collectors, friends and supporters of WirMachenWelle to celebrate a collaboration built on a shared belief: that art and sport can carry the same courage, and the same reach.
Guests saw a selection of the painted surfboards firsthand — the works that sit at the centre of the project, each one carrying Sebastian through the record-breaking waves of Nazaré before Stefan translated that scale, force and calm into colour and line.
The evening also marked the wider purpose behind the collaboration: every board sold helps fund WirMachenWelle, the foundation Sebastian founded in 2017 to bring young people onto a surfboard and into nature, offering surf therapy and mentorship that passes on the same self belief that carried him from Nuremberg to the biggest waves on earth.

Founded by Sebastian Steudtner in 2017, WirMachenWelle brings young people onto a surfboard and into nature. Through surf therapy and mentorship, they learn what once carried Sebastian himself: the self belief to hold onto a dream, and the courage to chase it. The water becomes a place to grow, one wave, one dream, at a time.Every piece from the collaboration sold helps a young person find the courage to dream.
